Social and Environmental Justice (SEJ) Code of Conduct

We are a diverse group of people who have come together to fight for social and environmental justice.

Membership of SEJ is currently free of charge. By completing the SEJ membership application form, individuals are agreeing to be bound by this Code of Conduct and to:

  • actively support the SEJ Mission Statement, as well the objects/aims of SEJ as outlined in our Articles of Association.

  • agree to be bound by the relevant sections of The Articles of Association of SEJ.

  • attend or respond to the invitation to attend the SEJ Annual General Meeting (AGM).

  • actively contact SEJ within three months of its AGM, to continue membership for the following 12 months.

SEJ Members are expected to treat others with respect and civility in person, in writing, and on social media. Racism, sexism, ableism, fat-shaming, etc., have no place in our society or in this organisation.

Members may disagree with others, debate ideas, policies, etc., but must never attack a person in word or deed.

Members may identify themselves as part of SEJ but may not speak, write, tweet, or liaise with other campaigns, organisations, media on behalf of SEJ, without that responsibility having been delegated to them by the directors/relevant Committee.

The Company’s directors reserve the right to accept/reject membership applications. Membership may also be withdrawn from individuals who do not comply with this Code of Conduct or who bring the reputation of SEJ into disrepute.

Please indicate on the SEJ Membership Application that you agree to abide by the terms of this Code of Conduct
