By signing up to our mailing list as a supporter, member or volunteer, you agree that we may process your information in accordance with the terms of our privacy policy.


We currently collect and process the following information from supporters, members, and volunteers: First name, Surname, email contact address and borough/local authority of residence. 


The personal information (as specified above) provided by you will be added to our mailing list and used only to inform you of SEJ activities and campaigns. 


We will provide information about how to be removed from our mailing list with every mailing.

If you are under 16 years of age you must obtain parental consent before joining our email newsletter.


We do our best to keep your data accurate and up to date, assuming you provide us with the information we need to do so. If your data changes (for example, if you have a new email address), then you are responsible for notifying us of those changes.


How we store your personal information 

We will keep the information given to us by you (ie first name, surname, email contact address, borough/local authority of residence) securely stored. 


In order to support distribution of information to SEJ supporters, members, volunteers, we will need to share this information with third parties. These are currently:

The email address that you submit to us will be forwarded to MailChimp, which provides us with email marketing services. Your email address will remain within MailChimp’s database for as long as we continue to use MailChimp’s services for email marketing or until you specifically request removal from the list. You can do by sending us an email asking us to remove you from the list; we will then delete your details from our mailing list and MailChimp.


Data breaches

We will endeavour not to have data breaches and will inform individuals concerned if this occurs.

Serious data breaches which may risk someone’s personal rights or freedoms will be reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office within 72 hours, and to the individual concerned


Changes to our privacy policy

This privacy policy may change from time to time in line relevant legislation (ie UK GDPR) or industry developments. We will not explicitly inform our clients or website users of these changes. Instead, we recommend that you check this page occasionally for any policy changes.
